City of Santo Domingo honours Arnold Foote

In recognition for his work done for the consular Corps movement, Advertising giant, Arnold Foote, was recently honoured with the ‘Huesped Distinguido de la Cuidad Santo Domingo Award’ in Santo Domingo.

At an Official banquet marking 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Consular Corps of the Dominican Republic, in that country’s capital city, Mr. Foote, dean of the Consular Corps of Jamaica, received the equivalent to the keys to the city of Santo Domingo for his work in the Corps, especially for his contribution to the success of the recent international forum of the Americas 2002 held in Montego Bay. Foote is the first Jamaican to receive that award.

With more than seven years involvement in the Consular movement, Mr. Foote has earned a reputation for himself as a broker facilitating business ties between member countries, and, since named Dean his work has been deemed to be very essential and beneficial to Jamaica’s economic sustainability.

According to Mr. Foote, being recognized by the Dominican consular corps is truly an honour.

“I feel very proud to be recognized for the contribution that the Consular Corps of Jamaica is making to the world consular movement, and I am particularly honoured to have been given keys to the city”.

Pinned by the Dean of the Consular Corps of the Dominican Republic, Wilheim Brouwer, who announced that Foote was made honorary member of the Consular Corps of the Dominican Republic.
